City council discusses water rate hike

The Glen Allen Town Council met in regular session at the Town Community Center on Tuesday, July 2. All council members were in attendance for the monthly meeting. Following standard opening procedures for the meeting, Mayor Allen J. Dunavant informed the council that he had received a bid proposal for purchasing the old water meters which were recently replaced with the Automated Meter Reading (AMR) water meters.

Glen Allen Council hears review of audit



The Glen Allen Town Council met on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the town’s community center. All council members were in attendance for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Rick McCabe, a Certified Public Accountant with McCabe and Associates of Fayette, addressed the council and presented a report and review from his annual audit of the town’s financial statements.

 

Glen Allen honors former clerk

The Glen Allen Town Council met on Tuesday,  Dec. 5 at the town’s community center for the regular monthly meeting. All council members were present with the exception of Councilman Robert Aldridge. Following standard opening procedures, Glen Allen Mayor Allen Dunavant presented a proclamation to former town clerk Shirley Stewart, honoring  her for 18 1/2 years service serving as the town clerk and also the water department clerk.

 

Glen Allen Council discusses demolition of building



The Glen Allen Town Council met on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the town’s community center. All council members were present for the monthly meeting. Addressing items of old business, Mayor Allen J. Dunavant informed the council that the Fayette Community Foundation Grant application requesting funds to assist with developing a walking track on the community center’s property was submitted prior to the deadline date.
