Returning to region play on Friday night, the Lions traveled to Guin to face-off with the Marion County Red Raiders. Winning the coin toss, the Lions elected to receive. Marion County was penalized on the opening kick for an offsides infraction, forcing a re-kick from the 35-yard line.
Getting the game underway, Brodie Porter advanced the ball to the Red Raiders 48-yard line. Following a two-yard loss on first down, Lion quarterback Gage Key connected on a passing route along the right sideline with Matt Sanders, who raced to the 24-yard line before Brodie Silas and Sebastian Figueroa could make the stop.
