Toni Robertson, representing the Fayette Area Community Development Corporation (CDC), attended the July 28 meeting of the Fayette City Council to address the council concerning a liquor license for a proposed hotel. All council members were present for the meeting.
Robertson said that the CDC is planning, with the help of investors, to renovate and restore the former Turner Hotel, which closed around 1960. The renovated hotel would be known as the Historic Fayette Hotel. Robertson said that for the hotel to flourish and attract occupants, they would need a special events alcohol license. “A license would be vital to the success of the hotel,” Robertson said.
