The Fayette County Commission approved a plan to centralize its purchasing of office supplies and materials in an effort to save money during its June 22 meeting. All commissioners were present for the meeting. Commission Chairman Mike Freeman had previously addressed the commission concerning centralizing its office supply purchases, but the commission had taken no previous action. Commissioner Barry Corkren made a motion that was seconded by Commissioner Joe Acker to authorize County Administrator Brooke Slatton to handle the purchasing of all office supplies except for the supplies used by the engineering department. The engineering department’s office purchases would be handled by County Engineer Josh Knight.
