Healing Zone coming soon to downtown

On Thursday, April 11, Fayette City Mayor Rod Northam, alongside Brittina Moore, the Community Liaison for Fayette, and other stakeholders, conducted an official site visit to the future Healing Zone in downtown Fayette. This area, also known as “Bill’s Trail”, is a tribute to the memory of William C. Robertson, a highly regarded local businessman.

 

Berry Town Council issues proclamation



The Berry Town Council approved a resolution during its May 1 meeting, declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month. All council members were present, with the exception of Troyce Townsel. Prior to the meeting, Berry Mayor Jimmy Madison and the city council treated the clients and staff of Berry Manor, along with other mental health personnel, to snacks and refreshments.

 

County Commission approves new mapping system

The Fayette County Commission held its April 25 meeting one day later than usual and at the Fayette County Annex Building instead of the Berry Civic Center as had been originally planned. All commissioners were present for the meeting.

 

Fayette Sherrif’s Department gets unused medicine depository

The Fayette County Sheriff Department recently received an unused medicine depository from Northwest Mental Health, where people can safely return unused prescription medicines that are no longer needed or out-of-date.
