Council sentenced for double murder

The first of five defendants in a double murder case from 2018 pled guilty on Friday, July 8, agreeing to serve two consecutive life sentences. The sentencing of Michael Evan Council, 28, a New Jersey resident, was announced by 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Andy Hamlin.
Council was one of the defendants responsible for the shooting deaths of Hernan Antonio Padilla and Allen Clifford Sandlin.  

 

Walker receives 20-year sentence

The office of 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Andy Hamlin recently announced the guilty plea and 20-year sentence of a repeat offender in Fayette County. Demetrus Deundra Walker, 42, a five-time convicted felon who was on probation from a 2010 case, pled guilty to selling methamphetamine in June 2020.  

 

Studdard sentenced


Wesley Aaron Studdard

A Berry man who was driving drunk when he caused a serious accident that injured a 17-year-old has been sentenced to serve 15 years and a day in prison for first-degree assault. Wesley Aaron Studdard, 31, pleaded guilty in the Fayette County Circuit Court during a hearing held on May 11. 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Andy Hamlin announced the sentence on May 19.

Graham receives 20-year sentence

The 24th Judicial Circuit’s District Attorney Andy Hamlin announced on Wednesday, Nov. 11 the guilty plea and 20-year sentence of a defendant who shot a woman in the head during a drug transaction. Brandon Keyth Graham, 40, pled guilty last week to first-degree assault. The victim, 47, was driving a vehicle on Kelly Loop near Fayette County Road 91 with Graham as a passenger on Dec. 6, 2017.
