The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12. All council members were present for the meeting, with the exception of Councilwoman Aliska Hughes-Monroe. Councilman Tommy Williams opened the meeting with prayer, and also led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A large crowd of people was in attendance at the meeting to support the Fayette County Memorial Library. Library Director Jessica Crowe addressed the council to begin the meeting.
The Fayette City Council recognized and congratulated the Fayette seven and eight year old All-Star team for winning the state tournament and being the first team ever from Fayette to participate in the Dixie Youth World Series. All council members were present for the July 25 meeting, with the exception of Councilman Eddy Campbell.
