Council hears project update

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 28. All council members were present for the meeting. Fayette resident Chuck Ellenberg opened the meeting with prayer. Councilman Eddy Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. City Engineering Consultant Luke Porter gave an update on city projects to the council.

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Councilwoman Virettia Whiteside and Councilwoman Aliska Hughes-Monroe were absent from the meeting, with all other members of the council present. Chris Huynh, a member of the Fayette Junior City Council, opened the meeting with prayer. Fayette Junior City Council member Ann Carsyn Cowart led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Fayette City Council hears report on Frog Level Festival

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 24. All council members were present for the meeting, with the exception of Councilwoman Aliska Hughes-Monroe. Prior to the start of the meeting, Corey Baker, Children and Youth Pastor at Fayette First Baptist Church led the council in prayer. Fayette Mayor Rod Northam led the council in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Fayette City Council raises garbage pickup rates

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Councilwoman Virettia Whiteside and Mayor Rod Northam were absent from the meeting, with all other members of the council present. Mayor Pro Tem Eddy Campbell presided during the meeting in the absence of the mayor. Fayette resident John McPeek opened the meeting with prayer. His daughter, Sadie McPeek, led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Fayette City Council passes FY 2024 budget

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 26. All council members were present for the meeting. Prior to the start of the meeting, former mayor, Ray Nelson, addressed the council members about the importance of the “Festival of Hope,” and extended an invitation to the mayor and council to attend the event as much as possible.

Councilman Tommy Williams led the Pledge of Allegiance. City Engineering Consultant Luke Porter gave the council an update on recent projects.

 

Council hears plea for more courts at park


Emily Huang, the Fayette Junior City Council Mayor and a student at Fayette County High School, spoke to the council concerning more tennis and pickleball courts at Guthrie Smith Park.

Councilwoman Aliska Hughes-Monroe and Councilman Eddy Campbell were absent from the meeting, with all other council members present. Prior to the start of the meeting, Chris Huynh led the council in prayer and Fayette Junior Council Mayor Emily Huang led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

City Council hears funding request

The Fayette City Council held its regular council meeting on Aug 8. All council members were present for the meeting. Prior to the start of the meeting, Councilman Eddy Campbell led the council in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. A large crowd of people was in attendance at the meeting to support the Fayette County Memorial Library. Library Director Jessica Crowe addressed the council to begin the meeting.

 

Council congratulates All-Star team

The Fayette City Council recognized and congratulated the Fayette seven and eight year old All-Star team for winning the state tournament and being the first team ever from Fayette to participate in the Dixie Youth World Series. All council members were present for the July 25 meeting, with the exception of Councilman Eddy Campbell.
