Fire damages downtown businesses
On Friday, July 5, at approximately 9:08 p.m., the Fayette Fire Department responded to a building fire in the 100 block of 2nd St. NE. Three downtown businesses were damaged during the incident.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, May 11, for Scrap Iron Quilting, LLC, owned by Phyllis Watkins Campbell. Campbell along with members of her family, Emily Montaque, Chamber of Commerce director; and other members of the community were in attendance. The business is located at 101 1st Street N.E. in Fayette.
On Thursday, April 11, Fayette City Mayor Rod Northam, alongside Brittina Moore, the Community Liaison for Fayette, and other stakeholders, conducted an official site visit to the future Healing Zone in downtown Fayette. This area, also known as “Bill’s Trail”, is a tribute to the memory of William C. Robertson, a highly regarded local businessman.
