MLK Annual Commemoration march held

The Annual Commemoration March celebrating the life and legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. took place on Monday, Jan. 20. The event started at the Fayette County Courthouse, where Rev. Kelcey Hale led scripture and prayer, followed by Bro. Milborn Savage leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Mayor Rod Northam welcomed the participants, and Rev. Charlie Humphreys explained the purpose of the march. Before the march began, Junior City Council Mayor Sean White led a prayer. Participants started on the courthouse lawn, marched south on Temple Ave., then southwest on 1st St. to MLK Drive, ending at the First Baptist Church.
