Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Shelton, age 84 of Berry, were held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Ashcraft Corner Cemetery.  She died Sunday, March 3,  at  Fayette Medical Center.
Mrs. Shirley Ann Shelton was born Dec. 7, 1939, to Dow Smith and Inez Earnest Smith in Walker County. She graduated high school at Oakman High. She worked at Arvin Automotive for over 24 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Berry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Inez Earnest Smith; brother, Sammy Smith; and sister, Sharon Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Shelton of Berry; two daughters, Melissa Shelton Davis (Shane) of Kennedy and Linda Brasher (Mark) of Bankston; sister, Suzie Smith Cooper (Mack) of Berry; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearer was Kyler Lay.
Pallbearers were Mark Brasher, Shane Davis, Jeremy Lay, Blake Lay, Neil Palmiter and Karl Smith.
Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette directed.
