MELBA ELLIS DIX

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Melba Ellis Dix, age 77, was held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Highlands Church of Christ, in Lakeland, Fla. She died Monday, March 20.
 Mrs. Dix was born July 24, 1945 in Berry to Travis and Mamie Ellis. She was a Social Worker with the State of Florida and retired after 32 years. During her time working with the State, she also served as the President and a board member for PHHASE (Polk, Highlands, Hardee Aids Support Education). Melba was a lifelong member of Highlands Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael Dix, of Lakeland; daughters, Michele Jewett (Larry) of Bartow, Maria Williams (Byron) of Lakeland and Julie Burr (Bill) of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Jacob Bird, Jeremiah Bird, Travis Osborne, Niki Osborne, Jaeden Williams and Bree Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
