Brashers and local female inmates help keep city clean

Shown is a small portion of the garbage that was picked up along Fayette city streets by the Brashers and some of the local female inmates.

John and Doris Brasher, along with a few female inmates from the jail at the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, recently picked up several hundred pounds of garbage that had previously lined the streets of Fayette. Doris Brasher said they concentrated on covering the city limits of Fayette, with some additional garbage pickup in the city’s police jurisdiction. During a nine-day cleanup effort, more than 1,100 five gallons buckets of trash was collected.
