Hubbertville boys punch ticket to Final Four with dominant playoff run, win against Addison

Hubbertville varsity basketball team heads to Final Four.

The Hubbertville varsity boys are playing their best basketball at exactly the right time. With postseason stakes on the line, the Lions delivered two commanding performances last week, defeating Hackleburg 75-52 on Feb. 14 before rolling past Meek 75-46 on Feb. 17. The victories continue what has been an impressive season for Hubbertville and send the Lions deeper into playoff competition with plenty of momentum.

Area basketball teams enter final stretch this season

The Lady Lions picked up two wins in recent action. Hubbertville defeated Pickens County 50-23 on Feb. 2, powered by Addison Tucker’s 15 points and 13 rebounds. Georgia Gardner scored nine points, while Karlee Pollard, Mylie Kate Hubbert and Jenna Kay Hollis added seven points each. Kadence Cox contributed six.

Hub girls lose two, boys win one

The Hubbertville varsity girls’ team fell to Winfield, 47-42, on Dec. 17. Two days later, the Lady Lions lost to Brilliant, 50-46.

The Hubbertville varsity boys’ team lost to Winfield, 67-59, on Dec. 17.  The Lions bounced back on Dec. 19 with a 64-38 victory over Brilliant. 

Hub varsity boys named NAC Tournament Champions

On Friday, Dec. 13, the Hubbertville Varsity Boys Basketball team won their NAC Tournament game against Marion County High School by a score of 72- 61. The team was recently recognized as NAC Tournament Champions.
