Fayette Co. DHR now accepting Christmas applications

FAYETTE COUNTY DHR NOW ACCEPTING CHRISTMAS APPLICATIONS

The Fayette County Department of Human Resources will receive Christmas Applications from 9 until 11 a.m. on the following Wednesdays: October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, and November 13.  There will be an interview process to determine eligibility for the program. The program is applicable for children up to 15 years old.  The child must live in your home.

The Berry Farmers Market is back

The Berry Farmers Market is back, and will be Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14. There will be a Christmas market on Dec. 21. It will be from 9 a.m. until noon behind the Berry Pharmacy. It will now be a community market for vendors. There will be less restrictions so more vendors can participate. No set booth fees. It will be donation only to benefit the North River Rescue Squad. No resale or yard sale items.

Bonfire at FCHS

There will be a bonfire at Fayette County High School on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to meet in the softball parking lot. Children not enrolled at FCHS should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

11th Annual Collectible Bottles and Antiques Show

Date

The 11th Annual Collectible Bottles and Antiques Show and Sell will be Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. at the Boy Scouts of America building at 100 3rd Ave. in Fayette. $15 rent per table. There are only 50 tables. Rental money goes to the local Boy Scouts. Set up times are: Friday, Oct. 11 from 3 until 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 12, from 6 until 7:30 a.m. Free admission to the public. El Bethel Baptist Church Hamburger and Hot Dog Fundraiser

El Bethel Baptist Church will have a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Boy Scout Building. It is in conjunction with the Bottle and Antique Show. They will sell hamburger and hot dog plates. Plates are $8 each. The hamburger plate comes with a hamburger, chips, drink and dessert. The hot dog plate comes with two hot dogs, chips, drink and dessert.

FCHS 1971 Class Reunion

The Class of 1971 of FCHS will participate in the Decades of the 1960s and 1970s FCHS Reunion to be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. C-Plus Band will perform at 7 p.m. Bring lawn chairs. Food vendors will be on site. The backup location (in case of rain), will be the Boy Scout Building at 5 p.m. 1971 classmates will pay $15 each at registration.

First Baptist Church to have pastor appreciation

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 440 Martin Luther Dr., will have pastor appreciation on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. C. Wayne Davis and New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Gordo. Dinner will be served from 12:30 - 2:15 p.m. Rev. Dr. Major Charleston, Jr. is the pastor and the Associate Pastor is Minister William White.
