Belk Community Club to meet

The Belk Community Club will meet Monday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Belk Community Center. Come visit with friends and family.  Bring a dish and enjoy some southern food. There is very little business, but be informed on things happening in the community and county. All are welcome.

Fayette Co. Extension Office to host Winter Holiday Fest

The Fayette Co. Extension Office, 650 McConnell Loop, Fayette, will host a Winter Holiday Fest on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 4 until 6 p.m. Participants will create delicious seasonal treats, including cranberry zest jam. The workshop is open to all, and no prior experience is needed. Registration is required, and the cost to attend is $12 per person. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Brother 2 Brother fundraiser

The Brother 2 Brother brotherhood will have an Iron Bowl BBQ fundraiser. Boston Butts are $50, and a slab of ribs is $35. The deadline to purchase tickets is Saturday, Nov. 15. Food will be cooked by Spark’s Smoked BBQ and pickup will be Friday, Nov. 28 from 4 until 6  p.m. at 220 2nd St. N.E. in Fayette at the Dare to Believe building. Local Author Showcase at FCML

Fayette Co. Memorial Library will host a local author showcase on Saturday, November 15 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. If you are a published author in Fayette or surrounding areas and want to showcase your work, contact Jessie Crowe at jessie@fcml.org or call (205) 932-6625 by Friday, Nov. 7 to register.

Champion Brothers "Bringing it Back" at Fayette Civic Center

Champion Brothers “Bringing It Back” will be Saturday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Fayette Civic Center, 530 Temple Ave. N., Fayette. It will feature McCray Dove and The Dove Brothers from Greenville, N.C., along with host groups Faithful Friends and Chosen Witness. No admission charge but a love offering will be received. Family First Board Game Drive

Help the 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office provide a board game for every first grade student in Fayette, Pickens and Lamar Counties. Games or monetary contributions can be dropped off at any District Attorney’s Office (Fayette, Carrollton or Vernon), any West Alabama Bank and Trust branch or the Fayette Police Dept.
