MT. JOY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 251 Mt. Joy Rd., Fayette, will have their annual men and women day program on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m. The guest pastor and church will be Rev. Corey Savage along with Plum Grove Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. The guest speaker for the women will be Sis Linda Faye Savage. You are invited to come and worship with them as they lift up the name of Jesus.
Kirkland Bluff Wayside Volunteer Fire Dept. will have its third annual trunk or treat on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Wayside Fire Station, 12049 Hwy. 107, Winfield. There will be inflatables, spray the fire hose, meet Sparky the fire dog, touch a truck, try on turnouts, facepainting and more. It is a free event. For more information, call (205) 412-8318.
The Bankston Stough Volunteer Fire Dept. will have Fall Trade Day on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Bankston Stough Fire Department. The Fire Department will sell BBQ sandwiches, chips, drink and dessert for $6. Yard sale set up is free. For more information contact Vick Selman at (205) 270-0791.
Scout Troop 45 girls are hosting a fried catfish plate sale. Plates will consist of Catfish, fries, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, drink and dessert. The 12th Annual Fayette Collectible Bottles and Antiques Show and Sell will be held Saturday, Oct. 11 at 8 a.m. at the Boy Scouts building, 100 3rd Ave., Fayette. Free admission to the public. CHRISTMAS APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
The Fayette Co. Dept. of Human Resources will receive Christmas Applications from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4. There will be an interview process to determine eligibility for the program. The program is applicable for children up to 15 years old. The child must live in the home.

Charleston, Jr. and First Lady Gloria Charleston on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m. The guest church will be New Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church, from Columbus, Miss. Rev. Christopher Wriley, Sr., the pastor, is the speaker for the afternoon program. Rev. Dr. Shelby A. Pearson will be the speaker at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
Kirkland Bluff Wayside Volunteer Fire Department will hold their fall fish fry fundraiser on Sat., Oct. 11 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Kirkland Community Center. Plates are $15 each and come with fish or chicken, beans, slaw, fries, hush puppies and a desert and drink. Dine in or carry out. Fish is fresh not frozen. They are also holding a donation raffle for a chance to win $300 cash, $100 cash or a crochet afghan. Tickets are $1 donation/ 1 ticket or $5 donation/ 6 tickets.
