The Town of Berry is hosting a Christmas tree display at Heritage Park during the month of December. They are asking for you to display a tree decorated by you or your organization. No glass ornaments. Each person or organization is responsible for taking down their own tree. You can start putting the trees up Friday, Nov. 22. You are also responsible for staking down your tree and supplying an electric cord. They hope to have entertainment at the park during this time. The TV show “American Pickers” is coming to Alabama in December 2024. They are looking for leads for people with unique collections that would be appropriate for their show. They don’t pick stores, fleet markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public. Pack 45 Cub Scouts, located at the Scout Building across from the Sonic, will host a Swmap John’s faundraiser on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 4 until 7 p.m. Plates will be $15 and include sweet or unsweet tea, chicken fingers, shrimp or catfish (or a combination), and cole slaw, hush  puppies, a pickle and french fries.

OLD CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH, 3051 Canaan Rd., Fayette, will have a singing on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 3:30 p.m. Milborn Savage and the Masterpieces will be the guest singers. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Alex Johnson is the pastor.

NOVEMBER 28

LOFT TO HOST FREE THANKSGIVING MEAL

The Loft, a local 501 C-3 nonprofit ministry will host its annual free Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Everyone is invited. If you know of anyone who is homebound, please call ahead for delivery. Donations for this event are greatly appreciated. Call (205) 303-5114 for more information. St. Michael’s Episcopal Church will pass out beans and rice and canned goods on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m.  A hot breakfast is also served at this time. No documentation or income verifications are required. 

The Town of Berry’s Christmas parade will be Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. Line up will be at the Berry High School parking lot at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Marsha Locke at the Town Hall office at (205) 689-4562.

Fayette Old Fashion Christmas will be Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5 until 8 p.m. in downtown Fayette. There will be music, food, shopping, train rides for the kids, carriage rides, tree lighting, horse and buggy rides, photos with Santa, a snow globe and much more.

The Fayette First Methodist Church Chancel Choir will present a Christmas Cantata “This Is Christmas Love” by Mary McDonald on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. Choir director and accompanist is Karon Renfroe. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Glen Allen Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be Monday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Allen town hall.
