The Fayette Lady Tigers softball team played a lead-in game against South Lamar om Thursday, leading up to its annual “Tiger Slam” tournament on Saturday. Fayette got in the hole early before fighting back and losing a 9-8 heartbreaker to the Lady Stallions. Ensleigh Kennedy was the starting pitcher for Fayette and only pitched one inning, allowing three hits and three runs to suffer the loss. Preslee Kelly pitched six innings in relief for Fayette, allowing six runs but only one earned run. Lauren Unger had three runs at the plate to lead the Lady Tigers, while Kennedy collected two hits and Delilah Hallman, Aubrey Deavours, Skyi Lewis and Kelly had one hit each. Deavours and Nichols also had two walks each.
