BOE recognizes choir program at monthly meeting

The Fayette County High School Choir performs for the Board of Education in the school library.

The Fayette County Board of Education met on Feb. 10 at Fayette County High School (FCHS). The meeting began with a prayer led by board member Tom Hubbert, who expressed gratitude for the school system, its teachers and administrators while asking for continued guidance in helping students grow academically and personally. Board members and attendees then recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members Brenda Webb and John Aaron were not in attendance. The FCHS Choir, led by Kevin Beck, sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Beck thanked the board for its ongoing support, noting the choir is the only choral program of its kind in West Alabama outside the Tuscaloosa County City and Jasper systems.
