Snow Day in Fayette

People in Fayette County and the surrounding area woke up on Monday, Jan. 11 to a blanket of snow on the ground. The snow appeared to have caused few traffic problems in the area, as schools were cancelled and some businesses delayed their morning openings.

First snowfall of season


This picture was taken of the back of a vehicle at approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 10.

The first snowfall of the season in Fayette County occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 10, with most of the snow falling between 9-10 p.m. The snow mostly accumulated slightly on colder surfaces, such as cars, wooden porches, etc., and did not appear to pose a hazard to travel in the Fayette area.

A very light dusting of snow fell and slightly accumulated, mostly on wood and metal surfaces, in Fayette County on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 15. While the snowfall was almost immeasurable, the temperature for Wednesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 14 stayed mostly between 30 and 40 degrees for the 48 hour period.
