FCCLA seeking photos of current and past military veterans

Fayette Middle School’s FCCLA is asking for your help! Some of our students are in the process of creating a video project for our Veteran’s Day program and would like to feature pictures of current and past military service men and women. If you or a member of your family would like to have included in our video, please email a copy of the picture to Lee Parson at lparson@fayette.k12.al.us. Berry Farmer's Market is Back!

The Berry Farmers Market is back, and will be Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14. There will be a Christmas market on Dec. 21. It will be from 9 a.m. until noon behind the Berry Pharmacy. It will now be a community market for vendors. There will be less restrictions so more vendors can participate. No set booth fees. It will be donation only to benefit the North River Rescue Squad. No resale or yard sale items.

Southern gospel music concert

Date

There will be a southern gospel music concert on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Vernon City Complex at 44425 AL-17, Vernon. The concert will feature The Kellys from Lawrenceburg, Tenn., along with host groups Faithful Friends and Chosen Witness. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be taken. Forestry and Logging Workshop

The Fayette and Lamar Co. Extension Offices will host their annual Forestry and Logging Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lawrence Mill Community Center. 5 CFE Cat-1 continuing education unity and 5 PLM CEUs will be offered. Fayette Co. Fair Arts and Craft Exhibit drop-off

The drop off for the Fayette Co. Fair Arts and Craft Exhibit for 2024. is Sunday, Sept. 29 between 1 and 5 p.m. at the Fayette Multi Purpose Complex. Ask for Erica or Sara Bell to register your entries. Entry is free. There will be prizes for all first, second and third place winners. FCHS 1971 Class Reunion

Date

The Class of 1971 of FCHS will participate in the Decades of the 1960s and 1970s FCHS Reunion to be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. C-Plus Band will perform at 7 p.m. Bring lawn chairs. Food vendors will be on site. The backup location (in case of rain), will be the Boy Scout Building at 5 p.m. 1971 classmates will pay $15 each at registration.

First Baptist Church to have pastor appreciation

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 440 Martin Luther Dr., will have pastor appreciation on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. C. Wayne Davis and New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Gordo. Dinner will be served from 12:30 - 2:15 p.m. Rev. Dr. Major Charleston, Jr. is the pastor and the Associate Pastor is Minister William White.
