The Berry Volunteer Fire Department is having a Swamp John’s fundraiser at the Berry Fire Station on Dec. 5 from 4 – 7 p.m. Plates consist of fish, chicken or shrimp or a combination of any or all, also cole slaw, fries and tea. Plates are $15. Proceeds help support the operation of the department.
The Town of Berry is hosting a Christmas tree display at Heritage Park during the month of December. They are asking for you to display a tree decorated by you or your organization. No glass ornaments. Each person or organization is responsible for taking down their own tree. You can start putting the trees up Friday, Nov. 22. You are also responsible for staking down your tree and supplying an electric cord. They hope to have entertainment at the park during this time. The TV show “American Pickers” is coming to Alabama in December 2024. They are looking for leads for people with unique collections that would be appropriate for their show. They don’t pick stores, fleet markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public. LOFT TO HOST FREE THANKSGIVING MEAL
The Loft, a local 501 C-3 nonprofit ministry will host its annual free Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Everyone is invited. St. Michael’s Episcopal Church will pass out beans and rice and canned goods on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. A hot breakfast is also served at this time. No documentation or income verifications are required.

Fayette Old Fashion Christmas will be Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5 until 8 p.m. in downtown Fayette. There will be music, food, shopping, train rides for the kids, carriage rides, tree lighting, horse and buggy rides, photos with Santa, a snow globe and much more.
The Fayette First Methodist Church Chancel Choir will present a Christmas Cantata “This Is Christmas Love” by Mary McDonald on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. Choir director and accompanist is Karon Renfroe. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Fayette County Republican Committee will hold their regular monthly meeting at the Fayette Civic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Speakers will be Greg Davis, President and CEO of Alabama Citizens Action Program and John Merrell, former Secretary of State. All are welcome to attend.

Fayette Middle School will host a Swamp John’s Fundraiser for Fayette Middle School FBLA & FCCLA on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 4 until 7 p.m. Plates will be available at the FMS cafeteria for $15. They will serve chicken, fish, shrimp, cole slaw, hush puppies, a pickle and french fries. They will also provide sweet or unsweet tea and water.
