Lebanon Baptist Church, officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery, where she was a member for over 62 years. She died Sunday, Jan. 24, in Tuscaloosa.
Mary Angela Humber Fulmer was born on Oct. 25, 1946, in Fayette. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Angela remained deeply connected to her hometown of Fayette and FCHS Class of 1965 throughout her life. After she and her husband, Thomas Leonard “Lenny” Fulmer Jr., made their home in Tuscaloosa, she lived the remainder of her life there as a cherished and respected member of the community—lovingly calling both places home.
At the heart of Angela’s life was her family. She and her husband Lenny shared 57 years of marriage rooted in love and a shared appreciation for family. A devoted mother to three children and a loving grandmother to two grandchildren, she found great joy in time spent together. She also enjoyed rocking on the front porch, planting flowers and landscaping. Angela and Lenny shared the love of the outdoors and the quiet beauty of nature.
A proud graduate of The University of Alabama, Angela began her career as a Dietitian at Fayette Hospital before moving to Tuscaloosa, where she devoted the next 37 years of her life to caring for others at Druid City Hospital (DCH). Her compassion, leadership and dedication were evident through her work as a Dietitian, Director of Marketing and Director of the DCH Foundation. She also founded the Bloodless Medicine and Surgery program, and through her work with the DCH Foundation, she led fundraising efforts that made the Manderson Cancer Center possible — a legacy that continues to serve and comfort countless families.
Angela was deeply committed to serving her community. She gave generously of her time and talents, including serving as President of United Cerebral Palsy. She was a proud alumna of Leadership Tuscaloosa, active in the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, and closely involved with FOCUS on Senior Citizens of Tuscaloosa County. These roles represent just a portion of the many organizations and causes she supported throughout her life, reflecting a consistent commitment to helping others and strengthening her community.
Angela was the loving daughter of Lloyd and Arlene Humber, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Lenny; her loving children, Thomas (Tom) L. Fulmer III (Amy Fulmer), David Lloyd Fulmer and Lindsey Arlene Fulmer Pearson (Colter Pearson); and her cherished grandchildren, Colt Pearson and Emery Pearson. She is also survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Humber Loh (Ken), Terry Humber (Manda), Jerry Humber (Linda), and Janice Humber Parker (Tom), along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Angela made the world a better place through her kindness, generosity, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers were Andrew Bynum, Garry Thomas, Larry Humber, Trey Fitzpatrick, Shaun Yan, and Wyman Turner.
