A “Celebrate America’ rally was held at the Fayette Civic Center on Sunday, Nov. 14.
The event included a presentation of the flags by members of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the singing of the National Anthem by the Fayette County High School choir.
Kevin Beck, the music director at Southside Baptist in Fayette, sung several patriotic songs, and also sung the “Salute to the Armed Forces” to recognize any veterans who were present for the program. Perry Kelley, a World War II veteran who still proudly wears his uniform to special events, received a special medal awarded to him by John Killian, the Fayette County Baptist Association Director, and Dan Fisher, the featured speaker for the event.
