The Fayette Kiwanis Club held its 25th annual Golf Tournament on Sept. 30 at the Fayette Country Club to raise money for The Weldy Home in Fayette County. The home is now temporarily closed, but is still licensed and is expected to reopen once the coronavirus pandemic subsides. The Weldy Home opened in 1991, and prior to its closure last year, served as a group home for young girls who needed a stable home environment. The Kiwanis Golf Tournament began in 1996, and each year, the proceeds from the tournament have gone to help The Weldy Home.
