Bevill State Baseball
Bevill State baseball continued its fall schedule last week, playing four games against Lawson State, Calhoun and Snead State. The Bears split a pair of games against Lawson State on Sept. 8 before dropping two games Sept. 11, falling to Calhoun and Snead State. Bevill State outhit Lawson State 10-7 in the first game Sept. 8 but was unable to turn those hits into enough runs in a 4-2 loss. The Bears struck first in the second inning when a wild pitch allowed a run to score. Lawson State answered in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 1. Lawson State took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning and eventually held on for the two-run victory.
