Funeral services for Mr. David Fowler, age 86 of Fayette, were held Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Fayette Memorial Gardens. He died  Wednesday, Jan. 24, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Avis Lee Johnston Fowler; brothers, Sam, William, James and Charles Fowler; and a sister, Ruth Lindsey.
Survivors include his wife, Genine Cook Fowler of Fayette; son, Carlton Fowler (Patty) of Fayette; one grandchild, Jamie Fowler; step-grandchildren, Kristi Crabtree, Greg Chaffin (Julie), Brandon Foster (Shari), Kristen Moore (Tyler) and Brittney Shelton; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Fowler’s Sunday School Class at Belk Free Will Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers were Don Byars, John Aaron, Rodger Aaron, Paul Fowler, Dale Bozeman and Dewayne Roby.
Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette directed.
