BETTY JANE DODD GILREATH

Mrs. Betty Jane Dodd Gilreath, age 87 of the White’s Chapel Community, passed away at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023.  A private family service will be held with burial in the White’s Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 7, 1936 in Fayette County to Sherman Bill and Lueva Ned Hollingsworth Dodd.  She was a resident of the Glen Allen Community most of her life.  Betty was a member of White’s Chapel Church of Christ and was a 1954 graduate of Hubbertville High School.
She was employed for many years at James Earnest’s Store in Bobo, West Alabama Community Action Agency for Senior Citizens and Magnolia Retirement Home in Fayette. Betty loved her immediate family members very much and she was always helping some of them with whatever needed to be done.  Her family was the most important part of her life.  Betty loved flowers and spent countless hours working in her beautiful flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Ray Trimm and Grady Gilreath; parents; and her brother, Billy Gene Dodd.  
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Faye Sumeral Dodd; two nieces, Sharon Sullivan (Johnny) and Laura White;a great niece, Leigh Ann Dozier (Kevin); a great-great nephew, Eli David Dozier; two great-great nieces, Addison Kate Dozier and Paisley Faye Dozier; and a host of other relatives.
