Roadway issues brought to commission

The Fayette County Commission held its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Courthouse Annex Building. Commission Chairman Mike Freeman led the meeting with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. All commissioners were in attendance except for District Five Robert Townley and District Six John Underwood.

Commission approves new Solid Waste Plan

The Fayette County Commission held its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 26, at the Courthouse Annex Building. Fayette County EMA Director Michael Stoker led the meeting with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. All commissioners were in attendance except for District Three Commissioner David Hubbert and District Four Commissioner Wesley Jacobs

Commission asked for long-term financial solution for emergency medical services

On Monday, Aug. 12, the Fayette County Commission held its regular meeting at the Courthouse Annex Building. Prior to the regular session, a public hearing was conducted to discuss the updated Solid Waste Management Plan. With no comments from the public, the hearing was adjourned. Commission Chairman Mike Freeman noted that the commission would vote on the plan at the next meeting on Aug. 26. The meeting commenced with District Five Commissioner Robert Townley leading a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Commission holds work session to plan for 2025

The Fayette County Commission convened for a work session at the Fayette Courthouse Annex Building on Monday, July 8. All commissioners were present, except for District Five Commissioner Robert Townley. Fayette County Commission Chairman Mike Freeman stated the meeting was primarily about discussing and putting together plans for 2025 that are due by the end of August. He mentioned that this is not the only meeting, and there will be more discussions in the future.

Commission approves road bid project

The Fayette County Commission unanimously approved the acceptance of a bid from ST Bunn in the amount of $393,593 for the patching of County Road 2 and the scrub-sealing of County Road 36. This was the only bid received on the project. All commissioners with the exception of Commissioner Shane Hughes were present for the meeting.

 

Fayette County Commission hires road supervisor

The Fayette County Commission hired a road supervisor during a special called meeting on Friday, Aug. 13. All commissioners were present for the meeting. A committee consisting of Commissioner Robert Townley, Commissioner Wesley Jacobs, County Engineer Josh Knight and County Administrator Brooke Slatton interviewed applicants for the road supervisor job vacancy prior to the meeting. During the meeting, Townley said that the consensus of the committee was to hire Keith Edmonson for the job.
