Glen Allen town council

The Glen Allen Town Council met Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the town’s community center, addressing several items ranging from water system maintenance and a future rate increase to street improvements and the demolition of the former community center. Council members Brad Whitehead and Dustin Youngblood were absent. Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:18 p.m. Councilman Robert Aldridge opened the meeting with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Dunavant.

The Glen Allen Town Council met Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the town’s community center. All council members were in attendance for the monthly meeting with the exception of Councilman Dustin Youngblood. Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. Councilman Robert Aldridge opened the meeting with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by the mayor. Dunavant brought before the council the Glen Allen Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation Plan. The plan is a requirement of the Rebuild Alabama Act (RAA), which requires the council to adopt a transportation plan annually.

The Glen Allen Town Council met Tuesday, July 7, at the Town Community Center with all council members in attendance. Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Councilman Robert Aldridge opened the meeting with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by the mayor. Mayor Dunavant announced that the town’s America 250 celebration, held earlier that day, was a success.

The Glen Allen Town Council met Tuesday, June 2, at the Glen Allen Community Center. All council members were present. Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Councilman Brad Whitehead opened the meeting with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Dunavant. Following the pledge, Mayor Dunavant announced that the town had successfully secured funding through the Rebuild Alabama Act (RAA) Annual Grant Program to resurface 10 streets within the town.

Residents gathered Saturday, May 30, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the new walking track at the Glen Allen Community Center. The project began in November 2023 when the Glen Allen Town Council voted to construct a walking trail and submitted a grant application to the Fayette Community Foundation to assist with groundwork preparations. 

Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. Councilman Dustin Youngblood was absent. Before regular business began, Dunavant informed attendees of the death of former Mayor Tom Henderson, who served from 1992-1996. Dunavant shared remarks about Henderson’s dedication to the town and asked those present to observe a moment of silence in his memory.

Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Councilman Robert Aldridge opened with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilmen Brad Whitehead and Dustin Youngblood were not present.

The Glen Allen Town Council met in regular session Tuesday, March 3, at the town community center. All council members were present except Councilman Bret Burleson. Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order and Councilman Robert Aldridge opened the meeting with a prayer. The mayor led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance and the council approved the agenda.

Dunavant called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. and Councilman Robert Aldridge opened with prayer. The mayor led the pledge of allegiance.

Mayor Allen J. Dunavant called the meeting to order and called on Councilman Robert Aldridge to open the meeting with a prayer.
