Jamboree game brings wins for FCHS

The Fayette Tigers kicked off their football season Friday night with a preseason jamboree, hosting American Christian Academy (Class 4A) Winfield (Class 3A) and South Lamar (Class 1A) in abbreviated matchups at John Morgan Brown Stadium. Each game consisted of two 12- minute quarters, giving both starters and reserves a chance to take the field.

FCHS boys golf team wins Fayette Country Club Invitational

On Tuesday, April 22, the Fayette County High School boys’ golf team competed at the Fayette Country Club against various teams and won the Fayette Invitational. Winning medalists included Clark Vandiver, Charlie Cooper and Sawyer Stevenson for making All Tournament. Lady Tigers defeated by Berry Wildcats

The Fayette County Varsity boys fell 2-1 to the Sipsey Valley Bears on Monday, April 14. The Tigers lost 8-3 against the Etowah Blue Devils on Thursday, April 17, in game one of a doubleheader. In game two, Fayette County lost 8-0 against the Blue Devils. 

The Fayette County varsity girls lost to Marion County 9-7 on Monday, April 14. The Lady Tigers beat the Pickens Academy Pirates 7- 3 on Tuesday, April 15. Fayette County girls faced a narrow defeat, 5-4, to the Berry Wildcats on Friday, April 18.

Tigers undefeated in series of games

The Fayette County varsity boys defeated the South Lamar Stallions 8-4 on Monday, March 10. On Tuesday, March 11, the Tigers defeated the Curry Yellow Jackets 10-0.

The Tigers claimed another victory over Curry, 14-1, in game one of a triple header on Thursday, March 13. In game two, Fayette defeated Curry 3-0.

On Monday, Jan. 13, the Fayette County varsity boys basketball team won against South Lamar 62-57.  The Tigers defeated Hamilton 73-68 on Friday, Jan. 17.

The Fayette County varsity girls basketball team won against South Lamar 68-33 on Monday.
