Lady Wildcats finish regular season play with win over Pickens County

The Berry varsity girls basketball team lost 61-36 to Hubbertville on Jan. 24, and lost to Brilliant, 53-38, on Jan. 25.

On Jan. 27, the Lady Wildcats defeated Sumiton Christian 63-24, but lost again to Brilliant 72-41 on Jan. 28. In their final regular-season game on Jan. 30, the girls finished with a 58- 32 win over Pickens Academy.

The Berry varsity boys basketball team lost to Sumiton Christian 90-86 on Jan. 27, but bounced back with a 64-34 victory over Brilliant on Jan. 28. The boys closed out their regular season with a 54-18 win over Pickens Academy on Jan. 30.

On Monday, Jan. 13, the Berry varsity girls basketball team won against Vina High School 45-35.  The Lady Wildcats defeated Oak Grove 35-27 on Tuesday, Jan.14.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, Berry lost to Lynn 48-37. The Lady Wildcats narrowly defeated Pickens County 47-46 on Friday.

Wildcats defeat Panthers

The Berry Wildcats traveled to face the third ranked Spring Garden Panthers for the first time in school history. On paper, it should have been a high scoring game as two high octane offenses met with the Wildcats averaging 54 points a game and Spring Garden averaging 44 points a game. As so often happens, what fans got was an entertaining defensive battle that the Wildcats ultimately won 6 - 0 to punch their ticket to round three.

Wildcats thump Tigers 51-8

The Berry Wildcats traveled to Brilliant to face the Tigers in their fourth road game of the year. The Wildcats came away with a victory that closed out region play and solidified Berry as the two-seed in the upcoming playoffs.
