Cedric and Bertha Wilson’s home won first place in the Fayette Garden Club’s “Best Decorated Christmas Yard” for 2021. The yard of Bobby and Linda McCraw placed second and Larry and Jeanene Hindman’s yard won third place.

Fayette’s “An Old Fashioned Christmas,” held downtown on Dec. 3, was a huge success. A large crowd attended the event and enjoyed the various festivities.

This year, a group of local citizens are organizing “An Old Fashioned Christmas” in Fayette to help brighten up the holidays during the midst of a nearly year-long COVID-19 pandemic.
Myra Nichols said that she and her husband Ned were talking to John and Karen Gordon a few years ago about possibly starting a downtown tradition in Fayette at Christmastime, especially since the ceasing of the annual “The Gospel According to Scrooge” productions that were so popular for so many years.
The Fayette Civic Center will host a Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 featuring Fayette native Mart Avant and “The Night Flight Big Band.” The concert will also feature Annie McClendon on vocals. Avant said that the band will combine traditional Christmas music with standard big band tunes for the concert.

The Town of Berry held its annual Christmas Parade on Thursday, Dec. 6. The Berry High School Marching Band performed in the parade, along with several colorful and festive nentries.

The Fayette Christmas parade was held in downtown Fayette on Monday, Dec. 3. The Fayette County High School band performed and their were many festive and spiritual entries in the parade.
