Tigers advance to playoffs



Fultondale High forced to forfeit wins due to violations

Fultondale High School’s varsity football program has recently been fined and placed on probation for violating the AHSAA Transfer Rule by playing ineligible players, according to a release from the AHSAA. As a result, the program has forfeited all games in which these players participated. Fultondale forfeited wins against Cordova, Hamilton, and Fayette County High School. This puts Fayette County in a favorable position, as the Tigers will now advance to the playoffs.

Fayette County High School has started a new era for its basketball program with the recent hiring of Jake Mitchell, a seasoned coach with a decade of experience and a personal connection to the sport.

Six FCHS seniors recognized during athletic signing



On Friday, May 10, Fayette County High School celebrated the acheivements of six athletes during the athletic scholarship signing. Shown from left to right: Brady Jones (Cross Country at Shelton State Community College), Noah Benton ( Football at Lyon College), Hollis Strawbridge (Football at Rhoades College), Cooper Sanford (Baseball at Wallace State in Hanceville), Brantley Stocks (Baseball at Bevill State Community College) and Harrison Unger (Baseball at Bevill State Community College).

Bomb threat at Fayette County High School

On Monday around 9 a.m., Fayette County High School received an email of a bomb threat, according to Fayette County Sheriff Byron Yerby. The school immediately alerted authorities and everyone was safely evacuated from the area. Other Fayette County Schools were placed on a soft lockdown as a safety protocol. After a thorough search, the campus was cleared around noon. Yerby says that nothing was found during the search and the incident is under investigation. Fayette County High School resumed its normal operations on Tuesday, April 9th.
