C3 holds its annual meeting

The Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance, also known as C3 for it promotion of economic interests in Marion, Fayette and Lamar counties, held its 13th annual “State of the Region” meeting at Bevill State Community College in Fayette on Friday, Jan. 26.

C3 of Northwest Alabama, an organization of the Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance, held  its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Holiday Inn in Guin. Local, state and federal leaders joined local business people from Marion, Fayette and Lamar counties to talk about ongoing efforts to bring new industry to the area.

 

C3 holds ‘Meet and Greet’

The Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (also commonly known as C3) held a “Meet and Greet” at the Fayette Civic Center on June 30. The purpose of the event was to allow community and business leaders to meet the members of the alliance in an informal setting to discuss current economic issues.

 

C3 holds annual ‘State of the Region’ meeting

The Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (commonly known as C3), met on Friday, April 29, at Vernon City Hall for its annual “State of the Region” meeting. Local leaders and businesspeople from Marion, Fayette and Lamar counties met to talk about bringing business to Northwest Alabama during a time of change.

Wisemiller addresses Fayette Co. Commission



The Fayette County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Dec. 13. All commissioners were present for the meeting. Tom Wisemiller, President and CEO of the Northwest Alabama Economic Alliance (C3) addressed the commission at the start of the meeting. Wisemiller said that there are currently several expansions and new projects being developed in the three-county area (Fayette, Marion and Lamar counties).

 

Organizations to host job fair



The Fayette Career Center is partnering with the City of Vernon, West Alabama Works, and the Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (C3) to present a multi-employer “Job Fair" on Friday, July 16 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Vernon City Complex, located at 44425 Highway 17 in Vernon. The event is free and open to all employers and jobseekers.

C3 meeting to be held in Fayette

The 10th annual meeting of C3 of Northwest Alabama Economic Develop- ment Alliance, Inc. will be held on Friday, June 25 at the Earl McDonald Auditorium on the Fayette campus of Bevill State Community College. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Plan to enjoy brunch, catered by Fannie’s, and networking with friends and business associates from 9 – 10 a.m. The program will begin at 10 a.m.

Wisemiller named C3's new President/CEO

Tom Wisemiller of Marysville, Ohio has been hired as the new President/CEO at C3 of Northwest Alabama, Inc. David Thornell, President/CEO since C3’s inception in September 2010, announced his retirement in the fall of 2020 after 42 years in the economic development field. C3’s nationwide search for Thornell’s replacement spanned several months.

 

Northwest Economic Alliance holds annual ‘State of the Region’ meeting
