Fayette Tigers defeat Haleyville
Fayette County’s varsity boys basketball team earned a 68-61 victory over Haleyville on Monday, Jan. 27. However, the Tigers fell 57-39 to Brooks on Thursday, Jan. 30.

The Berry varsity girls basketball team lost 61-36 to Hubbertville on Jan. 24, and lost to Brilliant, 53-38, on Jan. 25.
On Jan. 27, the Lady Wildcats defeated Sumiton Christian 63-24, but lost again to Brilliant 72-41 on Jan. 28. In their final regular-season game on Jan. 30, the girls finished with a 58- 32 win over Pickens Academy.
The Berry varsity boys basketball team lost to Sumiton Christian 90-86 on Jan. 27, but bounced back with a 64-34 victory over Brilliant on Jan. 28. The boys closed out their regular season with a 54-18 win over Pickens Academy on Jan. 30.
On Monday, Jan. 20, the Berry varsity girls basketball team lost to Hubbertville 61- 30. The Lady Wildcats fell to Vernon, 52-30 on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
On Jan. 23, Berry secured a victory over West Blocton 50-15.
The Berry varsity boys team lost to Hubbertville on Monday, Jan. 20, by a score of 67- 50. The Wildcats fell to Lamar County 64-60 on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
On Friday, Jan. 24, the Wildcats fell to Hubbertville, 65-54. Berry secured a 66-32 win against Brilliant on Saturday, Jan. 25.
On Monday, Jan. 20, The Fayette varsity boys won 62- 45 against Gordo.
The Fayette Varsity Girls lost their Tuesday, Jan. 21, game to Sulligent by a score of 54-39.
Hubbertville basketball coach Caleb Hynds recorded his 200th basketball coaching win last week when the Hubbertville Varsity Lady Lions defeated Vernon. Hynds took over the position of coach at Hubbertville in 2021 from Lamar Harris.
The Hubbertville varsity boys basketball team had sa string of wins last week. They defeated Sumiton Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 21, with a final score of 88- 70.
The Lions triumphed over Lamar County, 77-56 on Wednesday, Jan. 22. On Friday, Jan. 24, the Lions defeated Berry 65-54.
The Hubbertville Lady Lions won big last week in all three of their games. They defeated Sumiton Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 21, by a score of 67-24.

On Monday, Jan. 13, the Fayette County varsity boys basketball team won against South Lamar 62-57. The Tigers defeated Hamilton 73-68 on Friday, Jan. 17.
The Fayette County varsity girls basketball team won against South Lamar 68-33 on Monday.
On Friday, Jan. 3, the Fayette County varsity boys team won 43-49 against Northside. The Tigers lost their game against Haleyville 54-77 on Jan. 7, and on Jan. 9, Fayette won their game against Winfield 73-71.
On Jan. 7, the Lady Tigers secured a big area win 55-54 over Haleyville.
On Jan. 6, the Berry varsity boys team lost 78-45 to Sumiton Christian. The Wildcats lost 63-54 to Phillips on Jan. 9.
On Jan. 6, the Berry varsity girls team lost to Sumiton Christian 38-41. The Lady Wildcats also lost to Phillips 37-54 on Jan. 9.
