The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is thrilled to invite the entire community during the months of March and April to participate in the Move Alabama community activity challenge. Move Alabama is a collaborative effort between SNAP-Ed and EFNEP at Auburn University and encourages individuals to embrace an active lifestyle with family, friends, and neighbors.
How to Participate: Interested participants are encouraged to visit the Extension Office, located at 650 McConnell Loop in Fayette, to pick up a printed challenge flyer.
The flyer provides simple ways to integrate more physical activity into daily life, making it easy for everyone to participate. For an added motivational boost and to connect with like-minded participants statewide, individuals can visit the Move Alabama Facebook page. There, they can download the challenge flyer and engage collectively with others who are moving more in March and April.
Local Pop-Up Challenges: In addition, participants will have the exciting opportunity to engage in local Pop-Up Challenges. These challenges are thoughtfully designed to raise awareness about specific areas within our communities where increased physical activity is not only beneficial but also attainable for all. On March 26, 2025 a Walking Health Fair will be held on the lawn of the Fayette County Courthouse from noon to 2 PM.
For more information about Move Alabama, including details on the challenge and local Pop-Up Challenges, please contact the Fayette County Extension Office at 205-932- 8941. Join us in March and April for some movement and positive change!
