CHERRY DAILEY STRIPLING
Funeral services for Mrs. Cherry Dailey Stripling, age 77, of Northport, formerly of Fayette, were held Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at Southside Baptist Church in Fayette with Bro. Robert Parrish, Bro. Mike Griffin and Bro. Glen Edmonds officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Stripling died Friday, Jan. 24 at UAB Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Dailey; and her parents, Will and Ethel Shepherd.
Cherry loved teaching math for 36 years at Fayette County High School. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at DCH and being actively involved at Southside Baptist Church. For the last four and a half years, she and her husband, Carl “Buddy” Stripling, have had the pleasure of serving and attending Arbor Springs Baptist Church. Her favorites were nightly devotionals with Buddy, playing games, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandsons and family. Those who had the privilege of knowing Cherry knew her kindness, strength, love, laugh and sweet smile. Isaiah 41:10.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Stripling of Northport; daughters, Dana Dailey (Ronnie Bellamy) of Bluff; Stephanie Richey (Jonathan) of Northport, and Leah Jones (Carl) of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and grandchildren, Jon Douglas Richey, Ben Richey and GeRoy Jones.
Pallbearers were Charles Markin, Steve Hutson, Joe Bundy, Gene Oswalt, William Eaves, Daniel Hindman and Stephen Fulmer.
