Diesel fuel spill prevented from entering water supply

Quick action by local water department and Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials prevented a diesel fuel spill from entering the local water supply. Daniel Brasher, general manager of Fayette Water Works, said that at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, a local hunter called the Covin water processing facility to report the smell of diesel fuel and a bluish sheen on the water of Luxapillila Creek near Highway 18 West.
