James Bruce Thomason, age 66, a native of Fayette, and a resident of Daphne passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018. Mr. Thomason was born March 16, 1952. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. As a civil engineer, he worked for the Alabama Department of Transportation and Volkert, Inc. He is preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Thomason. Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Karen Thomason of Daphne; three sons, Matt Thomason (Elizabeth) of Daphne, Will Thomason of Bon Secour and Alex Thomason of Daphne; two grandchildren, Anna and Paul; one sister, Eva Jane Miller (Scott) of Tuscaloosa; his mother, Louise Thomason of Bankston; other relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Mr. Thomason’s Life was held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne.
