Fayette Farmers’ Market offers farm-fresh produce

Several farmers are offering for sale locally-grown, harvest-fresh produce at the Fayette Farmers’ Market, located near the Fayette County Multipurpose Complex on McConnell Loop Road in Fayette. Ronni Rena Brasher, Fayette County Extension Coordinator, said that the local farmers have produced a bumper crop of fresh vegetables this year that are offered for sale each Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Farmers’ Market.

 

Moores help provide food for the Farmers’ Market


Shown are Gathon and Odessa Moore as they sold produce at last year’s Fayette Farmers’ Market. The Moores and many other families offer fresh, locally-grown produce to consumers at a the Fayette Farmers’ Market at a reasonable price.

The Fayette Farmers’ Market provides a means for local citizens to obtain quality, fresh produce from local farmers at a reasonable cost. One of the farmers that has participated in growing produce for sale at the Farmers’ Market is Gathon Moore. He said that once he retired 20 years ago, he and his wife Odessa started growing fresh produce to sell to the public.
