The Fayette County Republican Party will open qualifying for prospective candidates on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, and qualifying will close on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at 5 p.m. Applications can be obtained and fees paid at the Tuesday, Jan. 13 party meeting located at the Fayette Civic Center at 7 p.m. If candidates wish to qualify before or after the meeting, please contact the county chairman at (205) 303-9442 to obtain an application and pay fees. Fees for part-time elected positions are $250 and full-time elected positions are $500. No late applications or fees will be accepted.
