Joan Trentham Rawls

Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Trentham Rawls, age 63, of Fayette, formerly of Beaverton, were held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at 5 p.m., from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Michael Easter and Bro. B. J. Miles officiated. Burial followed in the Sizemore Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Rawls died Sunday, Sept. 13 at Brookwood Baptist Health – Walker in Jasper.

Joan was born on December 23, 1956 in Guin to the late Philip Edwart Trentham and the late Vernie Mae Terrell. She was a 1975 graduate of Sulligent High School. Joan enjoyed shopping, dancing, working outside with her flowers and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Vernie Mae Trentham.

Survivors include her husband, Leland “Spud” Rawls, of Fayette; sons, Chris Rawls (Jennifer) of Detroit and Philip Rawls (Jessica) of Sulligent; brothers, David Trentham (Ethel) of Sulligent, and Dwight Trentham (Martha) of Sulligent; sisters, June King (Danny) of Double Springs, and Jean Taylor (Ronald) of Winfield; grandchildren, Destiny Rawls, Kaitlyn Rawls, Jaden Priddy and Kayleigh Rawls.

Pallbearers were Chris Rawls, Philip Rawls, Chris White, Keith Bryson, Tray Trentham, and Brent Trentham.
