WILBURN DALE HOLLINGSWORTH
Funeral services for Mr. Wilburn Dale Hollingsworth, better known as Dale, age 73 of Winfield, were held Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. from Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors followed in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
He was born in Fayette County Alabama on May 17, 1949, to Wilburn Houston Hollingsworth and Bonnie Mae Hubbert Hollingsworth. Dale was a member of the Winfield Church of Christ and a 1967 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He attended Northwest Alabama State Technical Institute and Northwest-Shoals Community College where he earned a degree in Drafting. Dale served in the United States Army and retired from Verizon Company after 33 years. During his employment with Verizon, he served as union president for the CWA Post #3974 for over twelve years. After his retirement, Dale enjoyed fishing, wood working, having coffee with his friends, spending time with his family, cheering on his grandchildren in their sporting activities and watching Alabama football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Grace Tucker, Margaret Henderson, Bobby Hollingsworth and Joe Hollingsworth; a nephew, Allen Hollingsworth; and brothers-in-law, Willard Tucker and Ray Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie Hickman Hollingsworth; his daughter, Sandi Hollingsworth Webb; sons, Jason Hollingsworth and his wife Michelle and Jon Hollingsworth and his wife Leah; grandchildren, Kelsey Webb, Ethan Hollingsworth (Lauren), Kylee Wilson (Timothy), Autumn, Carter, Cadee Beth and Ceth Hollingsworth; and great grandchildren, Evalee Hollingsworth and Issak Wilson; his sisters, Kay Renger, Kathy Glover (David) and Vickie Holmes; brothers, Billy Hollingsworth (JoAnn) Randy Hollingsworth and Jacky Hollingsworth (Cindy); sisters-in-law, Lillian Hollingsworth and Martha Hollingsworth.
