Mr. Edward Kizzire, age 81, of Fayette, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Edward was a lifelong resident of Fayette County where he was a master electrician and worked until the age of 79 for Kizzire Electric. Former employment included years with Porter and Otts and Fayco Incorporated. He also served in the Alabama National Guard for many years.
He loved his family and supported them in all endeavors. He enjoyed watching Alabama football, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He passed down this love for hunting and the outdoors to his sons and grandsons. He was one of the founding members of Old Liberty Hunting Club, where he spent many years hunting, running dogs, and enjoying the comradery of club friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rusty Kizzire; mother, Mittie Kizzire; brothers, Y. C. Kizzire, and Travis Kizzire; sister, Martha Cook; and grandson, Will Kizzire.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Nell “Pheobe” Kizzire of Fayette; sons, Tim Kizzire (Lindsay), and George Kizzire (Marla); daughters, Teresa Kizzire, Pam McCormick (Jeff), and Sherry Terry (Kenneth); sisters, Juanita Dyer, Jean Talbert, Gail Mays, and Dorothy Perrine; sixteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
