The Fayette Police Department has made a generous impact on local education, donating between 250 and 300 books to Fayette Elementary School. Chief Danny Jenkins shared that this annual initiative aims to help children learn about important topics such as bullying, safety and making smart choices.
“We know children today face more challenges than ever before, and we want to provide resources that encourage informed decisions throughout their lives,” Jenkins said.
He said this effort wouldn’t be possible without the support from local businesses.
In addition to the school donations, books are also provided to community spaces such as the hospital waiting area, dental offices and other facilities to broaden outreach. The department also keeps a collection of books at the police station for groups of visiting
children, and even offers adult reading material covering topics like fraud, scams and drug prevention.
