Funeral services for Mr. Walter Clarence Bly, age 85, of the Hubbertville community, were held Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the White Springs Cemetery. Mr. Bly passed away on Monday, Feb. 15 in the Diversicare Health Center in Winfield.

Mr. Bly was born in Fayette County on Jan. 6, 1936 to Walter Fenton and Lillie Pender Bly. Mr. Bly was a song leader and member of White Springs Methodist Church. Clarence was employed for many years with the road crew of Fayette County Commission and was the owner/operator of Bly’s Bait Shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillie Bly; a brother, Columbus Bly; sisters, Audrey Gosa, Willie Mae Vallejo and Charlene Bly.

Mr. Bly is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wanda Webster Bly; his daughter, Kimm Bly Roberts (Tim); his pride and joy, grandsons, Ross Hayden Roberts and Daniel O’Brian Roberts (fiancé, Andrea Benefield); and a sister, Wilma Sullins of Georgia.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the White Springs Methodist Church Cemetery Fund at the Citizens Bank of Winfield in memory of Mr. Bly.
