Funeral services for Mrs. Jerry Jo Parker, age 74, of Fayette, were held Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 from Spring Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Malcolm Frase and Bro. Ryan James officiated. Mrs. Parker died Thursday, Oct. 11 at her residence.
She was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and a resident of the Spring Hill community. She was born September 9, 1944 to Pervie and Mary Aldridge of Eldridge and attended Hubbertville School, graduating in 1962. Mrs. Parker was retired after working for many years as the shoe department manager of Wal-Mart Store #1052 in Fayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pervie and Mary Aldridge; and her sister, Carolyn Aldridge Bobo.
Survivors include her husband of almost 53 years, John E. Parker; daughters, Anita Scrivner and Deborah Hunter; son-in-law, James Hunter, Jr.; grandchildren, Michaela Hunter, Colby Hunter and Zade Scrivner; and granddaughter-in-law, Autumn Hunter.
Honorary pallbearers were Alabama Hospice Care of Tuscaloosa, employees of Wal-Mart Store #1052 in Fayette, members of Spring Hill Church, DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Aspire Rehabilitation in Northport, Dr. Gene Aldridge and staff, Tuscaloosa Surgical Center and friends and neighbors of the Spring Hill community.
Active pallbearers were Colby Hunter, nephews, Jeff Walters, Grady Bobo, Jr., and Danny Bobo, Jason Guin and Shane James.
