Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Dee Daniel, age 83, of Fayette, were held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Mr. Daniel died Sunday, Jan. 9 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Harold L. Daniel and Elva B. Daniel of North Kansas City, Missouri.

Wayne was born in Dexter, Missouri on Dec. 12, 1938. He was a graduate of North Kansas City High School in 1956 and then attended The Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri where he received a four year scholarship for football. Wayne was married to Jeri H. Daniel of Raytown, Missouri for 62 wonderful years. He was an active member of Fayette First United Methodist Church.

Wayne started his professional career as a salesman with Vendo Company, INC. which eventually landed him in Fayette in 1983. This is where he owned and operated Northwest Alabama Vendors. He served as a board member for a local bank for several years. Wayne was active and involved in Fayette and often served as president or held office on community organizations and boards.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri Daniel; sons, Doug Daniel (Tina) of Brentwood, Tenn and Brent Daniel (Trina) of Fayette; brothers, Dennis Daniel (Margie) of Olive Branch, Miss. and Garry Daniel (Melinda) of North Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Courtney Rickman (Brandon) of College Grove, Tenn., Camaren Daniel of Nashville, Tenn., Trevor Wayne Daniel (Abbey) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Brandon Craig Daniel of Rainbow City and Cole Daniel of Fayette; and great-grandchildren, Bentley and Brooklyn Rickman of College Grove, Tenn.

Pallbearers were Brandon Rickman, Trevor Daniel, William Thigpen, Brandon Daniel, Cole Damiel, Carlton Benton, Bob Renfroe, David Logan, Sammy Renfroe, Bob Newman, John Cross, Bill Sanford, Bob Maddox and Larry McGee.
