The Fayette County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 11 at the Fayette Courthouse Annex building. Commissioner Brad Cox was not present at the meeting, with all other commissioners in attendance. Fayette County resident Nolan Maddox led the commission in prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Prior to the start of the regular meeting, a public hearing was held concerning a request from Warrior Met Coal to conduct surface mining and reclamation operations within a 100-foot setback of Fayette County Road 46, Fayette County Road 83, Earnest Road and two sections of Gurganus Loop Road.
